Volunteers in Action

National Honor Society

Glades Central High School

The National Honor Society at Glades Central High School has kicked off its inaugural JA in a Day Event at Pioneer Park Elementary School.  With financial support from the Chamber of Commerce of the Palm Beaches, the JA High School Heroes program provides high school students, primarily seniors, the opportunity to become role models by teaching and inspiring elementary students.

JA in a Day

BB&T

On April 15th at Crystal Lakes Elementary, Cristina Boucher and Stephanie Cifuentes from BB&T were reading "Robbie''s Trip to the Farm" to Lauren Kotch Kindergarten class. The students were introduced to a storybook character and his visit to a family farm. Through a group discussion and drawing pictures of their favorite animals, they discovered that individuals make choices.

Career Day

Joey N. Davis from Wells Fargo

Joey Davis, Senior Business Relationship Manager at Wells Fargo Bank, recently did a career presentation at Coral Reef Elementary. Students were fortunate to have the opportunity to listen to her speak about different choices they can have in their future.

By listening to professionals like her, students are able to see first-hand what is involved with different careers.
